ANNUAL MEETING 2002 – MILANO – OCT
9-11 Fri Oct 11, 2002 Panel
Discussion Integrating Function and Comprehensive DentistryProf.
V.F. Ferrario, Prof. G.M. Tartaglia, Since
the introduction of Electromyography /EMG in dentistry, instruments, electrodes
and techniques have been improved and standardized in order to evaluate recorded
data. Traditional quantitative information is therefore joined with new
quantitative measurement, providing a useful tool for diagnosis of occlusal
situations. EMG activity of masticatory muscles has been widely studied in
clinical work and research, both with indwelling electrodes and with surface
recording. The Functional Anatomy Research Center of the University of Milano,
directed by Prof. V. Ferrario, has developed during the last ten years the most
important research in EMG and occlusion relations, which have been published in
the most important scientific journals all over the world. In this Panel
Discussion Prof. V. Ferrario and his Collaborators will cover the results and
state of the art of EMG in the main fields of
dentistry. |
